How to connect your computer to the network
- If a computer does not ping, check the following on all
computers on the network:
- Click 'Start', and click 'My network places'.
- Click 'view network connections'
- Right click on the connection(s) that your computer uses
to access your network. (usually 'Local Area Network' and/or
'Wireless network connection' ).
- Click 'Properties'. On the menu that appears, in
the box under ' This connection uses the following items:' ensure
that the item(s) relating to TCP/IP are checked. Under most
circumstances, it is useful to check the other items in this list also.
- If the network still does not work, proceed to the next step.
- Remember to restart antivirus software. If doing so shuts
down your network connection then proceed to: how to configure your
antivirus software to allow network access
